Overview

The Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science at St. Barnabas Business College (STBBC) prepares students with the scientific knowledge, technical skills, and professional ethics required to perform laboratory investigations that support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The programme combines classroom instruction, laboratory practicals, and clinical placements to develop competent laboratory professionals capable of working in modern healthcare environments.

Students gain hands-on experience in clinical laboratory procedures, microbiology, hematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, parasitology, blood banking, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory quality management. Graduates are equipped to contribute to accurate disease diagnosis, patient care, and public health.

Eligibility

1. Hold the South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education (SSCSE) or an equivalent qualification with a minimum overall score of 50%, including passes in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
2. Hold the East African Certificate of Secondary Education (EACSE) or another recognized equivalent qualification.
3. Mature entry applicants may be admitted in accordance with the College's Mature Entry Admission Policy.
4. Applicants with international qualifications recognized by the relevant education authorities are also eligible for admission.

Note: Applicants may be required to present original academic certificates, transcripts, undergo medical screening, and satisfy the admission requirements of the relevant health professional regulatory authorities.
