Pharmacy
Caring for Communities, Improving Health, and Building South Sudan's Pharmaceutical Future.
Overview
The Pharmacy Certificate Program at St. Barnabas Business College (STBBC) is a foundational program designed to produce competent, ethical, and patient-centered pharmacy professionals who can support the safe and effective use of medicines. As South Sudan continues to strengthen its healthcare system and expand access to essential medicines, the demand for trained pharmacy personnel who can work in hospitals, community pharmacies, and public health programs has never been greater.
This comprehensive certificate program provides students with a solid foundation in pharmaceutical sciences, including pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacy practice, and drug distribution and management. The curriculum is designed to bridge theory and practice, with a strong emphasis on hands-on training in dispensing, patient counseling, inventory management, and pharmaceutical calculations that prepare graduates for immediate employment in the healthcare sector.
Students gain practical experience in dispensing medications, advising patients on proper medicine use, managing pharmacy inventory, understanding drug interactions and side effects, and maintaining accurate pharmaceutical records. The program also introduces students to essential topics such as pharmacy law and ethics, public health pharmacy, and the management of pharmaceutical supply chains in resource-constrained settings. Graduates emerge as competent, compassionate pharmacy professionals ready to contribute to the improvement of healthcare delivery in South Sudan.
